If you are new in the review process, this short overview might help you to understand what will happen. For more details, take a look at the rest of this website or contact your moderator.
The moderator facilitates the review process and informs the author and reviewers of each step and each activity that needs to be performed. All administrative tasks are handled by the moderator.
Deliver your document to the moderator. After the review deadline you will receive one set of deduplicated and sorted comments. Perform your rework before the deadline which is provided by the moderator. You can return your reworked document ánd the updated review form to the moderator. If your rework gets approved by the reviewers, the review will be finalized by the moderator after the review deadline. If not, the moderator will contact you.
In all cases: if you are unable to meet the mentioned deadline, inform the moderator so you can find a solution together. This is needed to prevent unnecessary reminders and to inform all involved in the review.
If you are a reviewer
When you receive a review request it will contain a simple review form and the document to review. Return the filled review form to the moderator (not the author or any colleague!) before the mentioned review deadline.
When the rework is done, you will receive an approval request. This request contains the reworked document accompanied by the full list of comments. Each comment will have a status and most of them will be provided with a reaction from the author. Let the moderator know, before the mentioned approval deadline, if you approve the performed rework.
After the approval deadline the moderator will finalize the review by sending out an email containing some metrics and a “thank you” to all reviewers.
In all cases: if you are unable to meet the mentioned deadline, inform the moderator so you can find a solution together. This is needed to prevent unnecessary reminders, to prevent double rework activities and to inform others if needed.
